World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrader kit up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For Item upgrading example an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading along with the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrade menu, using the circling arrows. This will roll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you get from every point of health therefore it is important to upgrade your armor as much as possible.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. It isn't possible to upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu.
