Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the Best item upgrader or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item upgrader kit in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players must select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of the names of items. For instance adding the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

Once an item has been finished being leveled in this way, it is eligible for a new set of upgrade components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in the rarest of circumstances.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item upgrader kit by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on a unit. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a character without spending a lot of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a method to create a more powerful character quicker, which enables players to advance in the game and attain higher tiers.

Sets

Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to par with the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.

To see if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button on their character screen. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant increase in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
