WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader mod upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the Best item upgrade that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, [empty] or armor with a button, which will display an image of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular Item Level Upgrade level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will be less expensive, even if they belong to another set of gear.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item upgrading that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one usage, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
