It is possible to lower the side panel by it's own, however this is not advised, as it increases the risk that your baby will be thrown out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism ensures that it can only remain in place if it is connected to the bed properly. This is a wonderful feature to have for peace mind, particularly in the case of breastfeeding and frequent nighttime feedings.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to work with any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers due to the telescopic legs.
