WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same Item Upgrader mod from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item level upgrade slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade item coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance it's Best item upgrade to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
