The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we tested. It can be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. When connected, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris in our testing and often went over the same area several times to give an extensive clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it lacks the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, such as our top robot vacuum picks, the i3+EVO and the j7+ Series.
