Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item can be improved through upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item upgrader kit can be a method to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through various methods, including using upgrade components as well as increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which could increase their stats.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components needed for the specific item. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but it can be reduced by various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.

The majority of weapons can be upgraded with a prefix, like a rune or an insignia, Upgrade Item and others can be improved with the suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, making them even more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by certain range. This is shown on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph can enhance a stat by but not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item you are in awe of.

Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, upgrade item or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards so this should not be considered as a loss.

A glyph added to an item can cause it to become unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the item. You can also add the glyph to your equipment to add an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who take lots of damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to change the affixes of their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained through a variety of methods such as in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix, which is typically superior to the original. Reroll tokens are also a great option to reroll stats on weapons and can be upgraded to increase damage or other perks.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrades upgrade menu, but they still qualify to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the items that have been rerolled. This will change the layout of the item upgrading's window and let up to six items be selected for recycling. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. A reroll will roll the % chance of a particular weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but users must be aware that it will reduce the total ilvl of the weapon by the number of rerolls used to increase it to its final ilvl. This effect is most evident on Diadems and Rings, because they are the only options for raising ilvl.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It would be fairer to let people pay for it with cash or food items which would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers are planning to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add an ability to change races in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade for an item upgrading is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the upgrade value for a stat. The second option is to boost the impact of the upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for an individual stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. After this, the new item will keep its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
