Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon massive drops or trade. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus on the item's stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons stronger. They can be found by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors, or finding them in items-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components or by using high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from the item upgrade.

The main function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be used to boost the value of an upgradeable Best item upgrade, or they can be used to increase the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or item upgrading piece of gear. They can be forged for extra bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the upgrade chances of its target while boost upgrades increase the attack or defense capabilities of a weapon.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be updated. Alternatively, you can utilize the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components are collected.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item will gain when upgraded using the component. For instance, organic components have a a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you reach the experience multiplier for the next level of the weapon or gear, then move to mechanical upgrades.

Each item comes with an upgrade maximum number that is available for. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most popular upgrades for weapons are a tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.

Sets

A set is a group of items that share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. The first time you upgrade a set piece or weapon will give it an increase of +1 to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased a bit more (for example, +1 to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrades can also boost the base damage of a weapon. This may be important for certain types of builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to have a greater maximum defense roll than their base. Upgrading can be a good method to increase the value of certain sets and unique items, however it's important to note that they're not necessarily better than a high-level runeword in any build.

If you are upgrading an item with a bonus it can be rerolled a single time, and its guarantee will reset to zero. The same amount of power dies are used to reroll an item as it would be to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power dice of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs also offer special rewards for each completed stage of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials as original item.

Rerolling

If a player has enough tokens for rerolling, they can roll any item they have acquired during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by the same level in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased from the store for small amounts of in-game currency, however they are not refundable. The new upgraded item will still come with the extra benefits of the previous one however, its stats will be different also.

Players can alter the identification of equipment in addition to rerolling it by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while maintaining its base stats and required attributes. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade components and interacting with the item upgrader mod's upgrader NPC. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. In the case of weapons, each step up will add an additional 5% to its damage.

The upgrade of an item can make it more powerful however, it can reduce its effectiveness. It is therefore important to find a balance between the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others need to be upgraded to reach their full potential. The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade templates reduction percentage of lvl. For instance, an upgrade of 8% will decrease the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8%.

The item will be upgraded to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base level. Those increases are also built on the upgrade template.

The amount of defense and damage the item receives as it gets leveled up can be observed below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons apart from practice equipment get these stats once they've been leveled up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command a much higher price than an unupp'd version. Similar is the case for other armor pieces, like tiaras or circlets.
