This robot vacuum-mop makes an excellent choice for apartment dwellers as it uses smaller docking systems and has its own garbage bin. The application lets you set different modes and monitor cleaning. The mopping function is also impressive.

Its obstacle avoidance and mapping are impressive, and it mops very well, robot mop picking up pet hair, spills and dirt. It also self-empties itself and self-cleans and refills its water tank.

iRobot Roomba Combination

The iRobot Combo is a robot that is able to mop and vacuum. It's not quite enough to take the place of our reigning Editors' Choice, the Deebot X1 Omni, which offers more cleaning power and an easier-to-use mobile app but it does make an excellent choice. In our tests, it consistently picked up dirt of all kinds and sizes from hard floors and carpets. Its obstacle avoidance isn't as sophisticated as other systems such as LiDAR and structured light, but it can prevent collisions in the majority of cases.

The Combo comes with many of the same smarts that the J7 Plus has, such as an onboard acoustic sensor to determine the type of floor and AI-powered Navigation, however it's not able to set suction power manually. It's also a bit smaller than the vac-only version and doesn't have a an auto-emptying dock.

The Combo is one of my favorites for robot mop homes with a lot of space. Its elegant design is also among the best I've seen in the market. The matte black finish is more elegant than the glossy or metallic finishes of the majority of competitors. iRobot also adds some more elegant features, such as the leather tab to open the bin that is onboard and a shelf that can store bags that are not in the dock. The iRobot Combo also allows you to easily create maps of your home, and to create Keep-Out Zones, No-Mop Zones, and Clean Zones.

Roborock

While Roborock is comparatively new to the robot vacuum and mop industry, it's already earned its name thanks to a suite of innovative cleaning technologies. The brand's vacuums have industry-leading suction, and its mopping systems use vibrating mops that scrub floors clean. Plus, a wide range of mapping and scheduling options lets you adjust the bot's cleaning schedule for your home's specific needs.

Roborock's obstacle avoidance feature enables the robot to see objects that are smaller than its own height. This is especially helpful for the most well-known Roborock models, like the Qrevo Master, which is top of its class in terms of navigation thanks to both vSLAM and LiDAR. Other Robovacs are often seen to crash into furniture and run over pet faeces and faeces with no awareness, but the Qrevo Master solves this issue by using a Reactive AI system that uses twin cameras to perceive objects in a room.

Roborock robots are equipped with a variety of convenience features to reduce maintenance. These include docks that are auto-emptied and mop-washing stations with many functions. These remove the need to manually empty bins and wash mops, resulting in an entirely hands-free ownership experience. The app is easy to use due to its simple layout and its lag-free communication to the robot.

Hobot Legee D8

It's a bit smaller than most of the competitors and its main brush is smaller than the majority, but it managed to make short work of our test area with ease. The revolving brush on the side that is used for edges is a nice feature and, while it couldn't remove dirt from our rugs and was not as effective as other competitors however, it did a decent job overall.
