It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and Robot hoover socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. 3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units this mop and robot vacuum mop cleaner robot is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has a simple mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and a little more cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and Robot Hoover adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas are.

For larger homes it's recommended to choose a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house by using the app or via voice commands. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum mop cleaner robot to continue from where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3
