Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and stains) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer at a low cost and is among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning in the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic hoovers cleaners could miss.

This Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its course automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and robots that vacuum and mop a home button that can bring the robot vacuums best back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best automatic vacuum and mop alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand The X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings on offer which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you make these settings or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with several functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
