2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you attempt to sleep.

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra.
