A bedside crib, also referred to as a bassinet for babies, is placed next to your bed to ensure that you can safely take care of your infant during night feeds and nappy-changings, without needing to leave the bed. They also help in developing independence as your little one grows more comfortable in their own space to sleep.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Joie Roomie Glide crib is a crib that can be placed at the bedside, allowing parents to stay with their infant while ensuring they are resting safely. Its smooth gliding motion is able to soothe your baby to sleep, and its ingenuous features let you monitor your baby without leaving your bed.

The cot for bedside's slide-away side panel raises and lowers at the push of the button, making it a breeze to reach in and soothe a crying infant in the night. It has 11 height adjustments to fit nearly any mattress size, and adjustable folding feet so that it's at the right level.

In terms of safety the cot is padded and comes with mesh sides for better airflow, and the mattress is made of high-density foam for additional protection. It can also be cleaned, so you can keep the crib clean. It is fitted with a mattress sheet that is suitable for the crib.

Contrary to other cribs that are bedside unlike other cribs for bedside use, the Roomie Glide is suitable for the majority of beds, including divans, thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a standalone crib even when it's not attached to the bed. It is packed with amazing features designed with the idea of parent-child bonding in mind.

One thing to keep in mind is that while this crib is great for newborns, it won't last long after your child is six months old, so you will have to purchase a bigger cot. Overall, Roanna felt that the Joie Roomie Glide was a very good purchase and she particularly liked its elegant design.

John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a fair price for an item. She liked the way it looked in her bedroom, and thought its grey color would fit most modern homes. However, she pointed that it's not an ideal idea to rock a young baby, as it can create a bad habit for later sleep patterns.

The Tutti Bambini CoZee

The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside sleeper cot crib is designed to ensure the best sleep possible. It features a drop side rail that can be easily lowered for nighttime feeds without having to wake your child or get out of bed it's ideal for mothers who are breastfeeding! It is also lightweight and easy to move around during nap time or for travel.

We love that it's made from soft materials with mesh sides that breathe, which aids in airflow and comfort. It's available in charcoal and oak, with a range of melange fabric options that blend well with most decor styles. Anna discovered that it was sturdy and secure once attached to her bed. The legs snapped into place and the zippers were secured to ensure safety. It took her around 10 minutes to assemble it and didn't require any tools, with clear instructions and a video or customer support number available if you run into any problems.

The CoZee crib has all the features you'd expect from a crib for your 4-in-1 bedside crib, such as the ability to connect it to your bed with a stay-in-place connection system. It also has six height settings. In addition, there is an inclines feature that can be used to assist babies suffering from reflux or congestion. It's also machine-washable, which is a must for all the dribbles, vomit and snot that come with having a newborn!

The CoZee is a great option if you want to keep your child in the first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a crib, changing station or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension pack, it could transform into an cot. While it won't magically put your baby to sleep or feed them, it will rock them and send them off.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco's most expensive options, but it is packed with lots of features. It can be used either a side-sleeper or a standalone crib that is suitable for babies from birth to six months. It features a brand new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel. It's simple to use even with one hand. It's also more adjustable than the previous model, with 11 different height settings as well as legs that retract to fit underneath any bed.

Our testers loved the easy access to the side panel, which can be moved up and down with just one push of one button. This was particularly useful during nighttime feedings as they could reach inside and pick their baby up without waking them.

It is possible to lower the side panel itself, but this isn't recommended, since it increases the likelihood that your child will be thrown out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism guarantees that it can only remain in place when it is attached to the bed properly. This is a great feature to have in place for peace of mind, particularly in the case of breastfeeding and frequent nighttime feedings.

Our testers found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, however it comes with lengthy instructions. It's heavier than other side-sleepers but it's still very portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's small enough to be able to fit into its travel bag when not in use which is a bonus if you need to transport it. The only downside our test subjects found was that the side panel didn't move as much as the other models, making it slightly harder to observe your child from your own bed.

The Shnuggle Air

If you're in search of a bedside crib that will expand with your child then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth a look. It's a sleeper crib that attaches securely to your bed and can be converted into a chic cot when your baby is old enough. Ideal for feeding at night and strengthening your bond with your baby's new.

In contrast to other models of bedside cribs The Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The dual-view mesh side panels and airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable maximize airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline helps to ease reflux and colic, while the zip down side allows you to feed or comfort your baby throughout the night.

The kit for conversion to cot is also well designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you need. It took us about an hour to put together and was relatively simple. The only downside was the absence of written captions on a few of the images which made it difficult to follow some of the steps. Overall, the process was simple and the materials used were of top quality.

In the co-sleeping mode, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an ideal choice for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section, [Redirect Only] since it allows them to easily reach out to their baby to feed and comfort them without having to leave their bed. It's also great for those who want to avoid the hassle of getting into and out of a traditional cot, or placing their child down for a nap.

The motion of gliding was found to be very beneficial in lulling babies into sleep after feedings at midday or night. The drop-down side can be accessible to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night this was a huge draw for our exhausted test mums. Although it doesn't rock, or have extra features such as a sound system, the Joie Roomie Slide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition our top crib reviews for bed.
