WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance it's Best item upgrade to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
