"Walk on the Cruise Ship Elizabeth"

Hello everyone.
I took this portrait when I boarded the ship in September 2021.
I was right to buy both the print and the digital version. (Can I use it for my end-of-life preparations?)
The first Queen Elizabeth in the back is the main character, so we split.
Most people usually stand in the middle and hold hands in love.
My husband, Douglas Ward, a cruise ship critic, started his career on this ship 58 years ago.
He said he met actress Elizabeth Taylor many times on board.
*Is the creator Viscount Linley no longer with us? !
This grand lobby is decorated with a marquetry about 6 meters high.
Seven types of natural wood, including Indian ebony and American walnut, are used.
The creator is Viscount Linley, the nephew of Queen Elizabeth, who is said to be the leading expert on marquetry in the UK. (At the time of launch)
They also have stores on Bond Street in London and inside Harrods.
In 2017, he took over the title after the death of his father and is now Earl of Snowdon.
The Earl's mother is Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth.
The beautiful and free-spirited princess is said to have been the model for the movie "Roman Holiday."
It is said that Princess Margaret was the only person to smoke in front of Queen Elizabeth.
*The Crown Princess Catherine Incident
Can I share another bit of gossip?
In 2017, a topless photo of Crown Princess Catherine was published on the cover of a French magazine.
The magazine was immediately withdrawn from sale and recalled.
The angry British royal family sued the paparazzi, won the case, and the matter was settled.
The incident took place at Earl Snowdon's "castle" in Provence, France.
Since it was a vast garden owned by her uncle, she could have sunbathed without worry.
It would be terrible to take a picture from outside with a high-performance telephoto lens.
* Two-story library
It is located next to the Grand Lobby.
When the ship first went into service, it had about 6,000 books in stock, including Japanese books.
The whole library is made of mahogany, and the globe on the left is famous as an antique made in 1932.
* Portrait of the Queen who named it
After COVID-19, it was moved from the Grand Lobby to in front of the Queen's Room.
The Queen's dress is royal blue.
The diamond necklace and earrings are royal jewelry owned by the state.
* The clock made by the same company as Big Ben
The clock on the Royal Promenade actually chimes.
If you look closely, you can see the proud double logo.
There is also a casino and an izakaya pub downstairs, so it is a lively street at night.
Now, let's go to the front of Deck 10.
*The Yacht Club, which shares its name with the QE2.
Downstairs is a mini observation lounge with a 270-degree view overlooking the pool.
Some cruises also have fencing classes like this.
In the evening, there's a disco with a DJ.
*Souvenirs for the first port call
There are two corridors leading to the Commodore Club at the bow, one on the left and one on the right, and this is the starboard side.
Japanese souvenirs are impressive, aren't they?
Just an unnecessary remark.
The Commodore in the observation lounge, Commodore Club, means admiral.
Like Commodore Perry when the Black Ships arrived, he is a captain among captains who leads a fleet.
In the Commodore Club on board the ship, there are several paintings of Cunard's three sister ships arriving at New York and its home port of Southampton at the same time.
*Finally, I'm tired from walking and hungry...
So, is there no introduction to the restaurants? Yes, that will be covered next time
in the food section.
The theme will be "What to eat on a British cruise ship!"
Please look forward to it.
